Whoops! Totally dropped the ball on the recap of Resort collections there! From taking my Vancouver vacation to my mini roll on other entries, I guess I forgot to recap the last bit of the collections. However, I don't really mind stretching out the resort collections, even though the last one showed a month ago, because it's easier to actually admire, enjoy, and remember the collections this way. I think when I write an entry a day on collections, things tend to get lost in the shuffle and I forget to actually look at burgeoning ~trends and whatnot. OK, enough chit chat! Onto photos.
By the way, if you're reading this on the actual site and not an RSS reader, I have added jump cuts to my blog for your convenience. The site will load faster now, you won't have to scroll so much, and it's just cleaner to look at. If there are any problems, please let me know though! I think it's still business as usual if you're reading it on an RSS reader.

Chloé, like Céline, is what I aspire to be like when I become a respectable lady. It's difficult for me to dress in a minimalistic way, especially in neutrals, but looking at the collections that Chloé has put out just makes me yearn for the day when I can actually perfect this look.

SPACE...the final frontier. Or something like that. What can I say except the prints on
Christopher Kane's collection are amazing. Nebulas exploding in space, as seen with the Hubble telescope? Yeah I'm sold. The only real decision here is how to whittle down the selection for a collage for this entry. Silk and leather, high waisted shorts and empire waist party dresses, jackets and sheer shrugs...be still my heart!
You already know
of my love for Miu Miu prints, and this resort collection is no different. Polka-dots, nautical stripes, and fruit prints played on retro silohuettes like 1970's flared jeans and long skirts. I think the shoes really make the outfit though. You get sailor-inspired shoes with a nautical outfit, and some 1940's-inspired open-toe sandals with polka-dot tap shorts. Yes a lot of vintage throwback but once you notice the apples and peach prints on the clothes, you know you're in 2010.

Moschino Cheap & Chic went the ladylike route, although it clearly went through a quirky filter. Dresses that you could totally wear for an afternoon tea are toughened up with grommets and metallic-accented ankle cuffs. Of course, the dress brings you back to the girly side with bows and a nice cardigan or blazer!

For me, the standouts in
Temperley London's resort collection were the black and white print outfits. Button ups are made both ladylike with a high-waist graphic skirt and tough with a pair of zippered leather pants. Long muted metallic gowns are made (a little bit) casual with a drapey cardigan and we can rest assured that skinny cropped pants are here to stay, as you can pair it with a visually interesting top. Needless to say, this collection is for cool city ladies--or at least ladies who want to look cool.
