3.1 Phillip Lim, ADAM, Erin Fetherston: Resort 2011

I have to admit, I wasn't too crazy about 3.1 Phillip Lim's resort collection. After being ~dazzled by his Fall and Spring collections, this one just fell short. The cropped flared pants and camel leather was just the meh-ness of the 1970s that I'm not really interested in. However there were at least a few stand out pieces in the sea of '70s business-wear. The outfits with the speckled gray pattern were my favorite, although a lot of the white ensembles that are actually real-life wearable, were also pretty nice.
As always, click collages to enlarge.

ADAM's collection is what my dream wardrobe would be if I was traveling. It's light, easy, and super versatile but it doesn't lose any style. It's always so difficult for me to pack light because I just want to bring everything. I rationalize it with "Well, what if I HAPPEN to go to a fancy dinner party? I need a fancy dress!" With this collection, you can dress up or down an outfit, which is totally what I need.

There were a TON of cocktail dresses in Erin Fetherston's Resort collection. However, there were even MORE pants. What? Has her new post as Creative Director at Juicy affected this? I think this question is still up in the air--until she incorporates terry or writing on butts that is. I'm really digging these pants looks though. So clean yet quirky, a perfect outfit for a stroll on the boardwalk beach or a day in the office.
